Removing Paragraph Borders

Summary: Format a paragraph to use a border today, and you may want to remove that border tomorrow. You do that by following the steps in this tip.

Word makes it easy to add borders to paragraphs in your document. If you later want to remove the border from a paragraph, follow these steps:

  1. Position the insertion point in the paragraph from which you want the border removed.
  2. Make sure the Home tab of the Ribbon is displayed.
  3. Click the down-arrow to the right of the Borders tool, in the Paragraph group. You'll see a whole series of options you can select.
  4. Choose the No Borders option. Word removes all borders from the paragraph.
